I remember a story of travelers in Africa running out of oil and putting bananas in their crankcase to get the car to a distance garage for repair.
ReplyDeleteThe way I heard the story, it was guys putting bananas in the crankcase of a '64 Chevy with bad piston rings that was burning oil before they sold it. Apparently it increased viscosity enough that less oil burned temporarily.
