  1. We get the #8: Asperatus clouds here all the time. At least 5 or 6 times a year. We live amidst the Baraboo bluffs in WI and normally get these before a late afternoon storm, or when the storm passes over without releasing the rain it holds.I've never seen lightning in this type of cloud though.

  2. Just yesterday I captured images of these clouds (#8) on my car camera in Melbourne, Australia. The weather was gearing up for some storm activity, but these clouds didn't dump any rain and dissipated after about 30 minutes. They were trully striking to see and looked 'exactly' like the photo in #8.

  3. Saw some in Central Victoria, Australia, 9th August early afternoon. By the time I got the camera, the effect was diminished, but still pretty stunning. Mike.
